RuGu Glamping Resort on Kurema Island, a neighbor of Miyako Island
Cross the Kurema Ohashi Bridge from Miyako Island and drive 5 minutes. RuGu is located on the west side of Kuruma Island. It is located just a minute’s walk to Nagasaki Beach, making it an ideal location for ocean lovers.
There are 16 guest rooms in total. All of them are renovated from trailer houses and can accommodate up to 4 people per room.
First, check in at the reception desk.
When you arrive at the inn, check in first. Check-in starts at 15:00.
Complete the registration at the cute tent located just after entering the site. The staff will give you a detailed explanation of what to expect during your stay.
Inside the tent, you can purchase accessories, sunscreen, organic hair care, and other tasteful goods.
After the reception, you will be driven to your guest room. Your own car can be parked right next to your guest room, eliminating the stress of loading and unloading.

Upon entering the guest room, the first thing that impressed visitors is the cleanliness of the room. Although the facility itself is still new, you can feel that the overall space is well cared for and very comfortable. In addition, the relaxing aroma that pervades the room makes you feel as if you have come to a spa.

Being a trailer house, the total area of the guest rooms is not that large. However, as it has a full-length window on one side, it does not feel claustrophobic; in fact, it is rather open. The room is so well-lit that it is bright even without turning on the lights. Blinds are provided so that you can relax in your room without worrying about being seen when you go to sleep.
There are a total of four single beds. The beds are made by “Simmons” and are comfortable. The cushioning was just right, neither hard nor soft.
The tastefulness can be seen in each of the small items, such as the cushions, bed veil, and lamp stand. The amenities in the rooms are all organic and additive-free in consideration of the natural environment, and the hotel’s dedication can be seen from the amenities in the rooms.

The rooms have a wooden deck balcony and a shower. You can wash off the sand after returning from the beach, so there is no need to worry about covering the room with sand. Even if you have small children, this is a safe place to stay.
Great contrast between the sunset and the sea of Miyako Island.
The guest rooms are trailer house style, so you can go outside right from your room. As the concept suggests, the rooms are built in such a way that you do not feel any boundary with the outside.
The rooftop of the room is a roof deck, and there is a vast ocean on the stairs. On a fine day you can enjoy a wonderful sunset view.

RuGu dinner barbecue style
Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm (subject to change depending on the season and conditions of the day). You will eat at the barbecue outside space.
Each item is baked by the staff.
Each dish is carefully grilled by the restaurant staff. The food is brought to the table not all at once, but in the order in which it was cooked, so you can enjoy it while it is still hot. There was none of the rush that is often associated with barbecues, and we were able to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the conversation and the scenery.
Starting with grilled vegetables, you have pork, fried noodles, and baked foil. Among them, the grilled whole green pepper and onion are the best. The vegetables were overflowing with flavor and sweetness. Even my son, who is not so good at eating onions, was chomping down on them.
Drinks can be ordered at the bar counter at any time, and an all-you-can-drink course is available for ¥2,000 per person. Drinks in a great location are exceptional, and you can easily drink too much.
Healed by the flames of a campfire
As the sun goes down and the second half of the meal begins, a campfire is lit in the center of the barbecue space. The atmosphere of the place becomes even better, and you can enjoy an even more extraordinary experience.
After dinner, take a night walk to Nagasaki Beach.
When your stomach is full, go for an evening walk.
If you go to Nagasaki Beach, which is just a short walk away, you will have the whole sky full of stars. There are no lights around this beach, making it one of the best spots in the Miyako Islands for star gazing. The starry sky here will leave you speechless.

RuGu breakfast is delivered the day before.
The next morning, the morning sun is your wake-up call. Rooms with many windows are very sunny, so you can wake up feeling refreshed.
Breakfast is delivered the day before. You may eat inside your room or on the wooden deck. Even during the hot summer months, the mornings are relatively cool, so eating outside is recommended. It is very pleasant.
Self check out so easy
After breakfast and getting ready, check out. The rule here is to check out by raising all the blinds and leaving your key on the table. There is no need to go to the reception desk. The good thing is that it is self-service, so you can go out and play in a flash.

I would highly recommend RuGu to anyone with children. My son was very much enjoying himself in the rich natural environment. It is also a great place for couples or friends traveling together as the atmosphere is supremely romantic. Sunsets, barbecues, campfires, starry skies. I highly recommend this place for a “one-of-a-kind experience”.

A group of trailer houses surrounded by the great outdoors. They are not conspicuous, but rather modest, as if they are one with nature. The location, the food, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the hospitality are all excellent, and we highly recommend staying at this hotel when you come to Miyakojima.
