They are kind to children, and I appreciate that I don’t have to feel small with my children in tow!
Simple and luxurious guest rooms
Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts consists of two buildings, the Ocean Wing and the Coral Wing. There are 11 types of guest rooms, and the number of guest rooms exceeds 200. Even with that many rooms, it is not unusual for the hotel to be fully booked during the high season. We recommend that you make your reservation as early as possible, as it is one of the most popular on Miyako Island.
Ocean Wing: 6-story guest room building with front desk
There are five types of rooms in the Ocean Wing as follows
- Family Western-style room (44.2 ㎡~46.4 ㎡) 1F
- Japanese Western-style room (38.2 ㎡~40.1 ㎡) 2F
- Standard twin room (32.2 ㎡~33.8 ㎡) 3~5F
- Deluxe twin room (32.2 ㎡~33.8 ㎡) 6F
- Deluxe corner twin room (37.3 m2 ) 6F
All of the rooms have been extensively renovated between 2018 and 2020, and all are highly recommended.
Only the lower-floor “Family Western-style rooms” and “Japanese Western-style rooms” have garden views. Although they do not have a view of the ocean, they have a larger room area. If you are traveling with children, it may be more convenient to stay on the lower floors when going out. It is up to your preference, but it would be nice to stay in a spacious Family Western-style room or Japanese Western-style room and enjoy the pool or the ocean to the fullest.
Coral Wing: the other wing with many unique rooms
The Coral Wing offers relatively spacious rooms. All have ocean views.
- Superior Twin (Family Room) (40.8 ㎡~43.7 ㎡) 3~4F
- Premier Twin Wide View Room (40.8 ㎡~43.7 ㎡) 5~7F
- Premier Twin View Room (41.3 ㎡) 4~7F
- Grand Twin Wide View Room (40.8 ㎡~43.7 ㎡) 8~9F
- Grand Twin View Room (41.3 ㎡) 8~9F
- Coral Suite (84.3 ㎡) 9F

Grand Twin View Bathroom” for this stay
The room we stayed in this time was a “Grand Twin View Bathroom” in the Coral Wing. The room was over 40 square meters in size and was on the 9th floor, so the view was fantastic. The view of Yonaha Maehama Beach and the Kuruma Ohashi Bridge below can only be seen here.
Three restaurants at Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts
Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts offers a wide variety of restaurants. There are three locations: the buffet-style “Nirai Kanai,” “Maipama” where you can barbecue by the beach, and “Yaebishi” where you can taste Japanese cuisine.
Barbecue for dinner while watching the sunset
For this dinner, we used “My Pama”, an open-air dining room. We reserved a table from 6:00 p.m. to coincide with the sunset. It was a blissful moment to dine while watching the sun set over the sea of Miyakojima.
Since we were staying with our 4-year-old child, it was also important that he would not bother other guests if he got bored of eating and wandered around. Hermit crabs also come to play with us because of the proximity to the ocean.

Breakfast at “Yaebishi” restaurant
In the morning, I had a breakfast meal at the Japanese restaurant “Yaebishi. The speciality of this restaurant is “rice cooked in a wood-fired oven”. It was very tasty, with a very firm texture. The mini buffet corner also offered small side dishes, salads, yogurt, natto, and more.
Yaebishi is also open for dinner dining at night. You can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine, sushi and teppan-yaki at the counter.
Fun pool at Miyakojima Tokyu Hotel & Resorts
The pool is available from mid-March to the end of November, and even if you don’t go in, you can enjoy the resort atmosphere just by lounging on a chair by the pool. The main pool is 25 meters long and large enough for swimming.
The kids’ pool is 40 to 70 cm deep, so even babies who cannot yet walk can enter. Arm helpers and children’s floats are also available for free.
Excellent service for guests with children
It also features a full range of services for families. Not only do they have family-type rooms and a kids’ pool, but they also have a wide variety of rental equipment for children. They provide many convenient items that are great for families with children, such as cribs, bed guards, washroom steps, diaper pails, and strollers.
Lots of nature on site and many activities
The hotel property is very extensive, and the resort also has a futsal court, tennis courts, and a putting golf course. Bicycle rentals are also available, so cycling around the area is fun. Children’s assistive chairs and children’s bicycles are also available.
